We’re currently working on an exciting project in collaboration with Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum and Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, USA to publicise their exhibition, Coming Home: Art and the Great Hunger.

This exhibition is the world’s largest and most prestigious collection of Famine-related art and will be visiting Ireland in 2018 for the very first time. 50 acclaimed artworks by some of Ireland’s best-loved artists will be shown at the Couch House in Dublin Castle in March 2018, moving to the West Cork Arts Centre in Skibbereen in July 2018, and culminating at Culturlánn in Derry in 2019.

Some of these artworks, by artists such as Jack B Yeats, Paul Henry, William Crozier, Alanna O’Kelly and Dorothy Cross have never been seen before in Ireland and we predict great excitement and anticipation for their unveiling.

This is the first time a project dedicated to the story of Ireland’s Great Hunger has been told through the visual arts. As part of the exhibition, a wide programme of events will take place to help tell the story of the Great Hunger. There will be contemporary performances, a new short film for young children, an educational app, newly commissioned artworks, concerts, debates and poetry recitals; all with the aim of reawakening Ireland’s connection to its past and living diaspora.
